STAR & LINKS Curriculum

In 2019, Marnebek has implemented the STAR program for selected junior classes and Links Program for selected middle classes.

The STAR Program (Strategies for Teaching based on Autism Research, Arick, Loos, Falco, Krug, 2015) teaches primary aged children with autism and other developmental disabilities the critical skills identified by the National Research Council. The ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) instructional methods of discrete trial training, pivotal response training and teaching functional routines form the instructional base of this comprehensive program. This program combines evidence-based strategies and is incorporated as a resource to teach the Victorian Curriculum learning areas of receptive language, expressive language, spontaneous language, functional routines, academics, and play & social skills.

The Links Curriculum (Linking Assessment and Instruction for Independence) is designed for secondary school aged students to teach both individual skills and independence in daily routines and comprises a comprehensive curriculum designed to promote student independence in natural environments.
